How I Help Home-Service Owners Get Unstuck

Through Indy Capital and Indy Brands, I work with business owners who are incredibly skilled at their trade but completely overwhelmed by the business side. These are people who started with a truck and some tools, built a solid reputation, and now find themselves working 80-hour weeks just to keep things running. They’re great at the work, but they’re drowning in scheduling, invoicing, hiring, and putting out fires.

I know exactly what that feels like because I lived it. Early in my journey with Davis Painting, I was doing the same thing: working on job sites all day, then staying up late doing paperwork and answering emails. It’s exhausting, and it’s not sustainable. More importantly, it keeps you stuck. You can’t grow when you’re buried in the day-to-day.

That’s where Indy Brands comes in. We bring the systems and playbooks that I built inside Davis Painting and apply them to other home-service businesses. We help with marketing so they’re not just relying on word of mouth. We install hiring and training processes so they can build a team instead of doing everything themselves. We clean up their branding and customer experience so they stand out in their market.

The goal isn’t to take over their business. The goal is to help them step out of the chaos and into a leadership role where they’re working on the business, not just in it. When that shift happens, everything changes. They get their time back, their profit margins improve, and the business becomes something they can actually sell one day if they want to.

For me, this work is incredibly rewarding. I get to help people who remind me of my younger self, and I get to prove that the trades can be a path to real wealth and freedom if you approach them the right way.
