A Day of Fun and Community Spirit with Davis Painting

Earlier this week I spent a day with Colby’s team at Davis Painting. I came in to share some marketing tips and help them level up their outreach. It was great getting to know everyone and hearing about the projects they’re proud of. After a few hours of training and brainstorming, we decided to take a break and head to his favorite sushi place for lunch.

We piled into Colby’s Cybertruck and headed to his favorite sushi place. On the drive over we joked around and felt like old friends. Over plates of sushi and sashimi we talked about life outside of work and got to know each other better. It felt like a real break with the crew—sharing stories and laughing before heading back to work.

We also spent a lot of time talking about his plans for Indy Capital. He explained that it’s not just about making money; it’s about helping roofing, painting and other trades companies succeed. I could tell he cares about the people running those businesses. Hearing him share his vision for lifting up tradespeople made me feel hopeful about the future. I appreciated that he trusted me enough to bounce ideas around over lunch.

As I headed home I kept thinking about how much Colby and his team give back. They don’t just show up to job sites; they sponsor youth teams, support first responders and pitch in at park cleanups. Spending time with them reminded me why they have such a strong reputation. I drove away feeling grateful to work with someone who lives his values.
